i had been drooling over an ensemble from asos since december. in fact, my wonderful sisty got me earrings for christmas that would have matched purrfectly. sadly, i discovered the other day that my size was no longer in stock. that’s always the worst moment ever. i just couldnt get myself to spend $60 on the shorts and $40 on the crop top. i, every so often, splurge on myself, but i knew that would be pushing it. yet somehow i can take a random trip to gapkids and spend $150 on my daughter. no hesitation. no guilt afterwards. i guess thats one of the things that makes me the best mommy in the world. wink, wink.
so where am i going with all this? obviously, mixing old and new and those basic pieces we all have in 5 colors is where its at. especially for mommas like me. i could throw on a clean white tee or tank with any old skirt or pair of jeans in my closet and feel amazing. different heels. different bag. makes all the difference. a great example is this overall trend that is back. im jealous of all of you who have kept your old pair and are now bringing them out again. rock them with new pieces and you are going to be the trendiest, most fashion forward girl in town. if you think about it, going through old boxes and drawers is kinda like shoppng anyways… in some way… maybe just a little? no?
